  In this tutorial, Gerard takes us through 'Corners' from their 2008 EP of the same name. This tutorial is ideal for players who have already mastered basic chord positions and who are interested in expanding their chord knowledge and capabilities. The majority of the techniques that Gerard demonstrates fall under the Rock n Roll style of playing, beneficial for any player to learn. Much of what he plays in this song is palm muted with great variants of up-down strumming patterns, picking out important notes here and there. This will improve your plectrum handling and accuracy vastly. He also displays how to chug power chords while including hammer-ons to the positions. This is a classic Rock n Roll trick that will never sound old! In addition, he takes you through a nifty ascending chord pattern with slides in-between each shape, a great technique to learn as it can be applied to pretty much any bar chord.
